There are a few thing wrong other than what Shabby was saying.

Let's take a sec and start with the assumption that emotional triggers are what unlock forms (which they aren't).

Rage? Sure, maybe. He is "Pure of heart, and awakened by rage," after all.

Fury? That's just a synonym for rage. I do see where you're coming from with that, though considering "rage" often implies a more uncontrolled and violent outburst, while "fury" suggests a more focused and powerful anger.

Pleasure??? Excuse you? There is no way in hell SSJ3 is unlocked via PLEASURE of all things. He trained for that power, but it's the most primal of the standard 3. In my humble opinion, SSJ3 exists as a form to remind Goku that you need balance for true strength, not just raw power or training. You get it through hard work, but then you need the raw power to use it correctly. *WE ARE IGNORING GOTENKS. HE DOES NOT COUNT.*

Calmness? No. If anything, Super Saiyan 4 is unlocked through control. Controlling the Saiyan instincts as a Golden Great Ape is what causes the form to emerge, not just being still. I guess you could also say it would be "love" because it took his love for Pan to get himself under control.

Spiritual Center? Close, but no dice. God only exists because of Goku's COMPASSION. You don't have to be spiritually centered to unlock God (the right way), Goku was REWARDED with God because of the connections he formed to create Gohan and save Vegeta. It's a ritual for a reason.

Serenity? Nope. Goku and Vegeta both unlocked Blue in the middle of battle, where they were most certainly not serene. Blue is the concept of absorbing God Ki into one's being, combining the out with the in to compliment what was already there. That's why it has such a stupid name, it's a Super Saiyan God, becoming a Super Saiyan.

Trauma? This is the weirdest one. I'm relatively sure Rage is a result of Trunks having a taste of god ki, such as becoming a Supreme Kai apprentice and hanging around godly beings for long enough, that his's body tried to emulate the power it knows is there but does not possess on its own. That's why it's blue in the middle and gold on the outside, its an emerging power using wells of strength usually only known to gods. However, I'm not Toyoutaro, so I can't know for certain.




TL;DR

There are purposes behind each transformation, but it's not emotion that shows that purpose, it's circumstance.

Honestly, it makes sense IMO; He has a disease, and we're still not sure if it's transmissible. It serves a different purpose, but it is still a purpose plus, it's kind of an essential part of his character.
