Could actually BE his little brother.
Goku was around an extra 2,5 years and didn't spend 3 years training. So Goten could have been born 5 years earlier in this timeline, add a potential 2 years of RoSaT and he'd be 12 here (which would fit).
But if it is Gohan there better be a good reason for the lying and disguise since apparently now he doesn't care about being outed here (why go through years of hiding his identity, even to an ally like Gast to just not caring when his mask is blown off)
Then why lie to Gast or show up in the costume at all if it's not needed anymore. If it was "Endgame and no more need to hide" Gohan would either show up in his Piccolo or Goku gi in honor of them (like Future Gohan did because he felt it gave him strength) instead if as a giant chicken
The Androids also aren't exactly shocked to see him either which is weird if this is Gohan and not Goten

I believe they lied to Gast and Co because of the paranoia. Gero has spy bots everywhere and surely they're smart enough to realize that. I think they just played it smart and kept their cards hidden until the last moment.

I suspect "the lie" in question is in fact about Gohan being dead. I believe they kept it going because Gohan had achieved SSJ. Therefore, had Gero known about this, he would surely have started creating stronger Androids. Then they never would have had a chance.
So, hide Gohans abilities and lie, saying he died, then wait for the perfect oppurtunity to take out all of them in one swoop. No time to build new Androids.
Only problem is, they didn't know about Cell.....

Ohhh yes! This is getting reeeeal good now! I bet Gohans SSJ was triggered by ChiChi's death. Excited to see this new Cell!

Also, regarding some comments from a couple of pages back: I think Gast senses familiar energy from Cell because of Cells Namekian DNA.
Loving this Cell design even more with this further reveal! NOW LET THEM FIGHT!
But Gohan is also a mutant, so Cell should be just as strong.
