I think they lied because up until Gasts arrival my guess is that Gero believed Gohan to be dead. He was likely their greatest asset so that worked to their advantage.

Them keeping Gast in the dark was a way for us, the readers to get a little twist out of it while also making sure the lie doesn’t get leaked out. Gohan was their “secret weapon” until then.

So, I think this confirms that the lie Thorn was talking about was that Gero did not kill Gohan. He turned him into an android. Before people thought the lie was that they were able to kill a cyborg, but Krillin confirms here that he did indeed kill one (somehow lol, guessing Kienzan).

Here we are, once again, with the follow up from the last Special!
In the first one, we focused more on world building, story telling and timeline placement of the events. Now, it is time for our heros to get into action!

As I previously said, it's an honour to be a part of this project and I hope you enjoy the next few pages as much as I did drawing them! I'm really proud on what me and Salagir achieved with this one, and as the story progresses you will notice that the drawings also improve and some of them I consider my finest work Dragon Ball wise. It's also 1 year anniversary month since the passing of Akira Toriyama so I do hope to honour his work with my efforts to give you the best quality I can!

Beside the fact that Vegetto should be somewhere else (?), he is definitely not so tall when compared to Gast, and the comparison should be immediate because the background is clearly at exactly the same distance, and Gast is even a tad closer to the "camera"

So This is how Vegito rampages! I knew it was out of character for Vegito to kill Gohan, it had to be someone else's doing. And with an evil vegito, Gogeta!

Gast is still alive, he will tell the organisers that was attacked and XXI will be disqualified.

This is so cool! XXI fatigued Gast by using a powerful avatar, just like Raichi did in their fight & also with U13 Vegeta. Now by enclosing him in this mist & fighting at full power, he maintains the element of surprise by guarding his true form/abilities. When he fights Goku in the finals (assuming he wins here), he can simply repeat this tactic. I have to give him credit for being creative against every opponent he has faced so far. Also, if those objects in the last panel are Kienzan-like, recall that Gast has apparently lost his regeneration for the time being, so he'll have to be even more careful as the fight inevitably draws to a close. I wonder if Gast can think of a way out. Can Instant Transmission work? Would love to see Vegito's reaction here.

Gast has a plan

If Gohan survive the Androids attack in this universe, he should be attending the tournament along with Gast in hope of winning the right to use Dragonballs, sadly he is not.

Yamcha is dead in his infamous dead scene, and Vegeta is not living on earth, so we won't see any version of Trunk that we know.

Maybe we get to see Yagirobe or Master Roshi as story-telling-NPC.

DBM is a love letter to Dragon Ball. There's no way it's not ending with a Saiyan vs Namekian.

Perhaps I'm being a little harsh and undermining Janemba's power here, but Gast is kind of sucking in this fight. I put him more somewhere between base and SSJ Vegetto than just high-tier regular SSJ3.

Are you guys really thinking that Kakaditz is losing here because of one surprise punch to his stomach? Like seriously wtf.

Did you wanted only one panel where Vegeta gets oneshotted and that's it? That's very boring in my opinion. I wanted to see an actual fight as conclusion to U13's story and I'm happy we got one, that's not really that one sided.

This is the first time Vegeta actually connected a punch, before Kakaditz was effortlessly trading blows with Vegeta, even with a smile, not breaking a sweat, while Vegeta takes this very seriously. Not to mention he easily tanked a huge Final Flash and just had some burn marks on him. Both Kakarotto and Raditz would have been dust individually if that hit them.

Its always funny when people immediately jump to conclusions after one page/panel, instead of seeing the whole bigger picture. What if Kakaditz actually kills Vegeta next page? I'm very sure some people would then complain again that this ended way too quickly. And that none of this makes sense, because DBM power scaling is total garbage. Sigh...

Wow, truly a shithead leader. The dude didn't even challenge Bojack or anything. He was simply proposing a plan. Leaders like this are the reasons people wouldn't want to share their ideas anymore, and many genius ideas would be wasted.
People like Bojack always see a chance to abuse their power and show others how powerful they are... until they run into someone more powerful than them.

Tao should mess up this child. No scouter means they won't pick up his ki and even if they're evenly matched in power tao has years of combat under his belt. Add on to the fact that unlike roshi and the crew on the way to this battle, Tao has no moral issues with harming or killing kids.
