Dragon Ball was never an adult show. It's pretty much the ur-example of shonen- meaning, for teenage boys and younger. Japan just has different standards for what is acceptable for kids than the United States and Europe.

you do realise that garlic jr and his whole shitty saga is anime only. he does not apear in the manga.
in most of the early movies it's mostly gohan being the big plot hole his age, hair style and tail.
and those other events are again anime only, garlic jr does not exist in the manga. and thats a big improvement.

Discussions and arguments about powerlevels are useless because even if the Vegeta or Frieza or whoever had a powerlevel a million times larger than everybody else, and Akira didn't want that character to win the fight, he/she wouldn't win. It's as simple as that.

What I don't get is how a Japanese anime makes its way to SOUTH KOREA of all places and then the first excitedly big OFFICIAL continuation of said series gets rooted in South Korea. Not to be unfair to Koreans, but come on, imagine how much buisness they're losing due to a lack of Japanese or even American subscription? How did Toriyama sign off the game to not even be fully released in Japan? And hell, despite what any purist may think of the Americanization, DBZ has a LARGE American fanbase. I could ask almost anyone in my school alone if they remembered DBZ and even the ditziest, trendiest, hipster (whatever that means) would say "Oh yeah, I watched that as a kid". Now why don't you guys do the same - you workplace, your school, your college; ask anybody and TRY to find somebody (more than 10 people) who don't have some knowledge of DBZ's existence.
It's so lame that it's taking them so long to bring the game out here.

Everybody heals, Vegeta leaves for Namek. Now the worlds strongest movie takes place (and because they wished Goku back early there is no inconsistency on the Dragon balls being used again). Meanwhile on Namek Vegeta has killed Dodoria and Zarbon (due to the Earthlings not being there he may have convinced Guru that it was better for him to have the Dragon ball then Frieza, plus Guru would know that Vegeta wont know how to summon porunga) and has collected all 7 Dragon balls. He realizes that 1. he cant use them and 2. The Ginyu Force are coming, knowing that he does not stand a chance against the Ginyu Force he decides to leave Namek with the Dragon balls prompting the Ginyu Force to chase him and then Frieza. A year passes and the Tree of Might movie takes place, then another year passes and the Lord Slug movie takes place. During these two years Vegeta has been hoping from planet to planet defending himself from the Ginyu Force slowly getting stronger and stronger from each battle until he was powerful enough to destroy the Ginyu Force, during this time Guru has died and the Dragon balls have turned to stone. With Frieza heavily on his case and knowing that immortality is he's only means to defeat him Vegeta returns to Earth, he reaches Earth but on seeing just how powerful Goku and the others have become he deduces that Goku must have become a Super Saiyan and decides to warn Goku of Frieza and they form a temporary alliance. The Z fighters now take on Frieza, Goku is far more powerful then he was in the normal universe due to the battles and training he has done in this extended period but is still no match for Frieza in his final form. Frieza go's on to kill Vegeta and Krillin prompting Goku to transform into a Super Saiyan finishing Frieza once and for all. They use the Dragon balls to wish everyone back to life.
Now Coolers Revenge takes place and because Goku never spent a year travelling in space he 1. hasn't mastered Super Saiyan transformation 2. Does not know instant transmission. He defeats Cooler and the Z fighters on listening to Vegeta and the destruction that was caused on Namek decide that its there duty to help them. They arrive on Namek to find only one survivor Nail, turns out the Frieza and Coolers father came to Namek to try to find out where Frieza was killed Dende and tortured Nail into telling him what happened. Nail fuses with Piccolo so that he can live on. Meanwhile Cold is traversing every planet that he's sons ship was reported to have landed on, Goku wanting to fight Cold arrives on planet yardrat where Nail said the Ginyu Force chased Vegeta too he learns the instant transmission technique and also learns that Cold is heading for Earth the Z fighters rush to Earth but on arriving find only the remains of Cold and his men and a mysterious youth (who turns out to be Trunks) Trunks warns of killer Androids who will arrive in 2 years time and that Goku will suffer from a heart virus in 1 year and gives him the medicine. They wish for the Namekians to be restored to live and Kami decides to take a young Namekian named Dende under his wing.
The Z fighters who are already superior to there normal universe selves train for the 2 years during this time the Cooler returns movie takes place. Everything takes place as per normal, Goku suffers from the heart virus, Gero underestimates the powers of a Super Saiyan and 19 is crushed by Vegeta, 17 and 18 are released. Goku recovers from his heart virus and seeing that the Androids aren't the same as the one from Trunks timeline (i.e. insane) decides to help his wife with some shopping and suggest to everyone to have a small break to recuperate and not to worry. Trunks does not understand why Goku is not worried but gets his sword fixed by Bulma and bang the Android 13 movie takes place. After the battle with the Androids Goku tells Trunks and Vegeta about the hyperbolic time chamber and Piccolo realizing the threat these Androids pose decides to fuse with Kami leaving Dende as the guardian of Earth. Everything takes place as per normal and then during the 10 days of peace the Broly movie and the Hatchiyak movie takes place. Cell is defeated by Gohan and everything returns to peace then Bojack arrives and is defeated. Broly second coming takes place whilst the Z fighters are preparing for the tournament with Vegeta launching into space for more asteroid training. Then when the Z fighter learn of Majin Buu they leave the tournament except for 18, Krillin, Goten and Trunks who go on to fight Bio Broly. Whilst Gohan is mastering the use of the Z sword Goku learns of another tournament in other world and decides to participate, then the Janemba movie happens. Then after Buu the wrath of the Dragon movie takes place and bob your uncle theirs my idea for the movie universe!!! Thank you and goodnight! Well, in Surpreme Kais flash back episode, it showed kid Buu destroying whole galaxies... It was an anime episode, and I don't think it was in the manga, however... The DBM novel has a lot that doesn't appear in the DBM manga and yet people keep pointing to it as canon... So I don't see where the Canon/non-Canon line is being drawn...
Things in DBZ canon causes inconsistencies just as much as filler, but where people go out of their way to explain those inconsistencies, they just label filler as non-canon... Or they label things like the Daizenshuu as being wrong... They are just accepting the explanations they like, and labeling everything else as non-canon...

Debates linked to DBM but drifting to something else than the current page must not last for too long. Also, if the two sides just stand firm, then it's useless to let it go on further. For longer argument, there is the forum.
#3. Do not post insult, provocation, racist, sexist, (etc) comments.
#4. Follow the rules of the English language as much as possible. No sms.
If we consider a comment isn't readable, it'll be deleted.
On your side, don't correct the writing of other comments.
#5. No flooding. So, do not send twice (or more) the same message. Don't repeat links. Don't post comments with content written with capital letters. The 'first' and other comments of the kind are not tolerated either.
